Innov Community participation
Life Stage Transition Support at United Caring
The innovative community participation program is designed to promote social interaction between individuals with disabilities and the larger community. Through this program, participants can engage in social activities and pursue hobbies of their choice. The program serves multiple purposes, including:
- Accelerating communication and participation
- Providing an opportunity to find like-minded people and engage in recreational activities
- Building a network and potentially gaining employment
- Improving independence and confidence levels
United Caring places great emphasis on innovative community participation programs and provides aid towards this. All supports funded under the NDIS innovative community program must be affordable and essential given the participant’s goals. This could include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Recreational activities – participants can try out a range of programs to see if they are interested and continue with them if they enjoy it.
- Group activities – this option allows individuals to participate in group sports, camps, and training to enhance their interpersonal and communication skills.
